It took over fifteen years to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up, but once I settled on Nursing, I knew I wanted to work with kids and being a school nurse fit that plan beautifully.
I am the Summer Program Director for the Maine Youth Fish and Game Association. Each year I coordinate and direct several weeks of summer camp, introducing over 150 area youth to the outdoors and traditional Maine outdoor skills such as kayaking and canoeing, firearm and archery safety, forestry, ecology, fishing, etc.
I completed my psychiatric clinical rotations and Senior Partnership at Acadia Hospital working with youth age 12-18, helping them learn to manage behavioral conditions, psychiatric illness, and daily medication administration and management.
I have been married for 15 years and have two boys, Sam who is 11 and Andrew who is 9.
I have a small organic farm where we raise chickens for both eggs and meat, garlic, grapes, and assorted flowers and vegetables.
I'm a bit of a foodie - I enjoy cooking absolutely everything from scratch. Breads, cookies, preserves, wild game, and gourmet meals.
I'm slowly but surely working on writing my own cookbook.
I have 2 Labrador Retrievers - Fenway and Independence.
I love traveling throughout Maine and the Caribbean, camping on the beach, reading a good book on a rainy day, and working on my 100+ year old farmhouse.
