December 2015

Fall has rushed by and with it time.  Where did the time go.  Here are some updates:

School Garden- we have added some items to make the soil healthier and hopefully with this good weather this week some turning of the soil will happen.  The best news is that the gardening shed which is almost finished by the Applied Science Class at Old Town High School will soon be in place by the garden.  We are very excited and appreciative of Mr. Peterson and his students.

LMS Civil Rights Team-The LMS Civil Rights team has some projects that they are working on.  The STAR Board is up and looking for STARs.  You know the kind.... students or adults who are a star in someone's life and need to be recognized.  .50 will buy a gold star that will have your compliment or encouragement printed on it.  We will be hosting a KINDNESS Challenge that will begin on January 19-29, 2016. We will keep you posted for upcoming events.   The team is involved with a leadership opportunity with the  Maine Youth Action Network.   Our very own Kayla Burke was on the news talking about the conference we attended.  Students on the Civil Rights team were inspired to create a video to promote our campaign for a school wide event.
