We have settled into school with new routines and schedules. Students have sports under their belts or have joined clubs and are into the daily routines of what makes a middle schoolers. We all need resources and quick tips on how to navigate the turbulent times of adolescence. I am always looking for current information on topics that are important to faculty, parents and students. I recently found a great parent resource called KnowBullying. This website gives you the link to an APP for your phone or ipad from SAMSHA. This is the government website for substance abuse and mental health services. This app is a handy tool for a variety of reasons.
The menu offers solid information about:
- what to do about bullying
- how to intervene in a bullying situation
- investigation of the situation
- helping your child
- general talking tips.
I will be looking for more tips to share. I would like to suggest Common Sense Media for a parent go to source for all things technological.
